The Tools for Everyday Life designers are busy with a new project. This time round we are looking at The Outdoors.
If we are not careful much of our modern lives can pass by indoors. And whilst there are many obvious benefits of the shelter offered by buildings, no architect or interior designer can compete with the beauty found outside man made walls.
We are therefore turning our attention to designing and making products for the outdoors for the latest additions to the Tools For Everyday Life collection. The broader aims of this particular project remain the same as those of the wider Tools For Everyday Life endeavour:
1_To provide a platform for the community of designers surrounding the BA(hons)3D Design Programme at Northumbria University to give physical form to what they want the world to be like.
2_To provide the Designers in Residence at Northumbria University opportunity to commercially test and trial products at carefully chosen trade fairs.
3_For the designers to engage with a wide range commercial and academic audiences.
The Outdoor products will be unveiled at the ICFF (International Contemporary Furniture Fair) in New York in May. More details about this current project and our participation at the ICFF will teasingly appear here and via social media channels @tooltales.
